Press and hold SETUP for about 10 seconds. Screen selection “Versions”
RNS 310 has only 3 information lines:

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Insert the SD card into the navigation system. When the pop-up menu appears, press the assign button. Once another pop-up menu is assigned, a question will appear asking if you want to use SD or install. Press the install button on the screen. Please note that it can take up to 2 hours for the maps to be fully uploaded. The navigation system will continue where it left off, even after the engine has been turned off. When it is finished, you will get a prompt to say that it is done. If you miss the prompt, you will see another screen saying 'installed files v12' 'files on SD card v12'. In either case, it is safe to remove the card from the slot.

Keep the SD card. Once installed it is locked to your system only and is useless in another vehicle and you may need it in the future.
