This is how you determine which unit is installed in the car RNS310 or RNS315:

Press and hold SETUP for about 10 seconds. The "Versions" screen will appear.
RNS 310 has only 3 information lines:

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Insert the SD card into the navigation system.

When the pop-up menu appears, press the Assign button. Once another pop-up menu is assigned, a question will appear asking whether you want to use SD or install .

Press the install button when you're sure there's enough space on the hard drive. Not sure? Then select " Use SD ." "Use SD" gives the RNS315 direct access to the navigation data on the SD card.

Please note that installation can take up to 2 hours for the maps to fully upload. The navigation system will continue where it left off, even after the engine is turned off.

Once installation is complete, remove the SD card from the system and keep it. Once installed, it is locked to your system and unusable in another vehicle, and you may need it in the future.
